IML lids: product communication integrated into your packaging

23 December 2025

Companies looking for a packaging solution that combines branding, functionality and sustainability often turn to In-Mould Labeling (IML).
With IML, product communication is not added onto the packaging, but fully integrated into it. At Covera Packaging, we offer plastic lids and closures with IML, produced in close collaboration with specialised manufacturing partners.

What is In-Mould Labeling (IML)?

In-Mould Labeling is a technique in which a pre-printed polypropylene (PP) label is placed inside the mould prior to the injection process. During production, molten PP is injected, fusing with the label and hardening together into the final shape of the lid.

Why choose IML?

With IML, the label and the lid form one single unit. No separate sticker, no loose label — but a durable, scratch-resistant and professional finish, perfectly suited for food products. IML combines brand impact, efficiency and sustainability, making it an ideal solution where visual appeal and process reliability are equally important.

Full-colour communication directly on the lid
Mono-material (PP) → fully recyclable
No separate labelling step → time and cost savings
Food-safe and hygienic
Custom production, based on your design
